7-Day Classic Safari Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Arusha: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). You’ll be welcomed by your El Classical Adventures guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Relax after your flight and prepare for the safari adventure ahead. Overnight in Arusha.

Day 2 – Arusha to Tarangire National Park: After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its ancient baobab trees and vast herds of elephants. Enjoy a game drive with a picnic lunch inside the park. Watch for lions, zebras, giraffes, and more. Overnight stay in a lodge or camp near Tarangire.

Day 3 – Tarangire to Lake Manyara: Depart after breakfast for Lake Manyara National Park, known for its diverse ecosystems, flamingos, and rare tree-climbing lions. Explore the groundwater forest and hippo-filled lake shores. Afternoon cultural tour in Mto wa Mbu (optional). Overnight stay in Karatu.

Day 4 – Karatu to Serengeti National Park: Journey through the Ngorongoro highlands en route to the Serengeti. Game drive en route with picnic lunch. By afternoon, you'll arrive in the central Serengeti, home to the largest concentration of predators in Africa. Sunset game drive and overnight in the heart of the park.

Day 5 – Full Day in Serengeti: Rise early for a full day of exploration in Serengeti National Park. Track lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas on game drives across the endless plains. Optional hot air balloon safari at sunrise (extra cost). Enjoy lunch at the lodge or picnic in the wild. Return to your tented camp for dinner under the stars.

Day 6 – Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater: Morning game drive in Serengeti before heading to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Visit a Maasai boma or Olduvai Gorge (optional stop). Arrive at your lodge on the crater rim or in nearby Karatu. Overnight stay with stunning crater views.

Day 7 – Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha: Early descent into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five. Spend the morning exploring the crater floor. After lunch, drive back to Arusha or transfer to the airport for departure. Safari ends with memories of a lifetime.
