Discover the hidden gems of southern Tanzania with El Classical Adventures’ immersive 4-day Mikumi Safari. Perfect for wildlife lovers, photographers, and anyone seeking a less-crowded, authentic safari experience, this journey takes you into the heart of Mikumi National Park — often called the “mini-Serengeti” for its wide-open plains and rich wildlife diversity.
Located just a few hours from Dar es Salaam, Mikumi is an ideal safari destination for travelers with limited time who want to maximize their experience. Expect to see elephants, zebras, giraffes, lions, buffaloes, and more — with dramatic backdrops of the Uluguru Mountains and sweeping savannahs.
Day 1 – Dar es Salaam to Mikumi: Depart early from Dar es Salaam for a scenic 5–6 hour drive to Mikumi National Park. Enjoy a hot lunch at your lodge before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Keep an eye out for elephants, wildebeests, and zebras against the scenic Mkata floodplain.
Day 2 – Full Day Game Drive: After breakfast, spend a full day exploring Mikumi’s wildlife-rich areas. Visit the Hippo Pools, the Vuma Hills, and open savannahs where lions, giraffes, and buffalo roam freely. Break for a bush lunch or return to the lodge for a hot meal before continuing your game viewing into the evening.
Day 3 – Cultural Tour & Afternoon Game Drive: Begin the day with a visit to a local Maasai village for a cultural experience. Return for lunch and enjoy another game drive through different park areas, focusing on tracking specific wildlife or landscapes you missed earlier.
Day 4 – Morning Drive & Return to Dar: Take one final early morning game drive to catch predators winding down from their nightly hunts. After breakfast, begin your journey back to Dar es Salaam, arriving in the late afternoon. Optional airport drop-off available.
